❄️ “Our Perfect Winter Day in Lake Tahoe”, by Sampson & Riley — Resident Tahoe Dog Co. Canines

Hi there — it’s us, Sampson & Riley, your friendly neighborhood Tahoe Dog Co. Dogs! Winter is one of our favorite seasons — fresh snow, crisp air, and endless opportunities for adventure. If you’re wondering how to spend the perfect winter day with your pup in Tahoe, we’ve got you covered (and a little snow on our noses too).
Morning: Fresh Tracks in Page Meadows
There’s no better way to start the day than with a snowy romp through Page Meadows, just outside Tahoe City. The meadows turn into a winter wonderland, with wide-open spaces for snow zoomies and tall pines dusted in white. Whether we’re bounding through powder or following our favorite scent trail, it’s pure Tahoe joy.
If you’re closer to Truckee, a stroll along the Truckee River Trail is another great option — we love the sound of rushing water and spotting a few snowflakes landing on our fur.
Midday: Fetch at Alpine Meadows
After a good morning hike, it’s time for a little playtime. Our go-to spot? The base area at Alpine Meadows (Palisades Tahoe). When ski patrol is off duty and things are quiet, Mom lets us play a few rounds of fetch near the bottom of Subway. The snow is soft, the views are amazing, and sometimes we even get an audience of smiling skiers heading to their cars.
Afternoon: Warm Up at West Shore Market
All that snow calls for a snack break (for humans and dogs alike). We love stopping by West Shore Market in Tahoe City, where Mom grabs a coffee and meets up with friends on the patio. We hang out under the table, soak in the sunshine, and wait patiently — okay, mostly patiently — for a bite of her breakfast sandwich.
Evening: Cozy Fire & Tahoe Dog Co. Gear
By the time the sun starts setting behind the mountains, we’re ready to curl up by the fire — preferably while wearing our Tahoe Dog Co. bandannas and dreaming about tomorrow’s adventures.
Winter days in Tahoe are all about balance: a little exercise, a little play, a little socializing, and a lot of love. And when we head out again, we make sure our Tahoe Dog Co. hats and stickers are ready to spread the pack spirit wherever we roam.
From snowflakes to sunsets, every Tahoe Dog knows — there’s no better place to be a dog than right here in Lake Tahoe.
