Every Tahoe Dog has a story — a mix of loyalty, adventure, and the unspoken bond that comes from mountain life. At Tahoe Dog Co., our designs are inspired by real dogs who live right here in our Tahoe community. These four are where it all began. 💛
🥇 Dottie the Golden Retriever — The Heart of Emerald Bay
Dottie is my next-door neighbor’s two-year-old Golden Retriever — a reddish ball of sunshine who radiates pure joy. Friendly, loyal, and always smiling (especially near water), she inspired “The Dottie” patch, showing her perched above Emerald Bay surrounded by granite and wild lupine.
She’s the embodiment of the classic Tahoe Dog — social, adventurous, and absolutely convinced everyone she meets is her new best friend.
🖤 Steven the Border Collie — The Original Tahoe Dog
Steven was my first real dog — and the one who started it all. He was my boyfriend Casey’s loyal companion before I met him four years ago, and quickly became mine too. Smart, soulful, and endlessly devoted, Steven spent his days exploring Sand Harbor, watching over us, and reminding me what unconditional love looks like.
He passed away last year at 11 years old, and his patch, “The Steven,” captures him laying peacefully on the beach — calm, wise, and at home. His spirit is the heartbeat of Tahoe Dog Co.
🐾 Otto the Australian Shepherd — The Mountain Explorer
Otto was one of my first foster dogs — a scrappy, tri-color Aussie who came into my life at just eight weeks old. I helped raise him through those goofy puppy months until he found his forever home… just two streets over!
Now I still get to see him often, and every time I do, he reminds me why I fell in love with this whole idea. His patch, “The Otto,” shows him in front of the Le Chamois at Palisades Tahoe — snow, gondola, and all. He’s the adventurous side of the Tahoe Dog spirit: always curious, always game.
❄️ Lily the Husky Pup — The Mischievous Free Spirit
Lily is my other next-door neighbor’s six-month-old Husky puppy — full of life, personality, and those toasty ears that make her look like she’s smiling. She loves my dogs so much (and, okay, me too — she still pees every time she sees me… the power of early treat bribery).
She rides with her humans everywhere, nose out the window, ears in the wind. Her patch captures that playful Tahoe magic — a reminder that joy, movement, and friendship are what this brand is all about.
Each of these dogs — Dottie, Steven, Otto, and Lily — carries a little piece of Tahoe in their story. They’re more than designs; they’re a celebration of love, friendship, and the adventures we share with our dogs. 🏔💛
