☕ Most Dog-Friendly Restaurants & Cafes in Lake Tahoe

Good Food, Great Views & Happy Dogs

After a long hike, beach day or morning on the trails, there’s nothing better than grabbing a bite with your dog by your side. Fortunately, Tahoe has plenty of restaurants, breweries and cafés with dog-friendly patios.

Here are some of our local favorites around the lake — plus a few important things to know before you and your Tahoe Dog head out.

Chambers Landing Bar & Grill – West Shore

📍 6400 W Lake Blvd, Homewood, CA
🌐 chamberslanding.com

It’s hard to beat Chambers on a summer afternoon. This iconic West Shore spot has a lakefront setting, historic bar and views straight out over Lake Tahoe.

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas and on the pier (not in the restaurant), making it a great stop for lunch, a sunset drink or a break after exploring the West Shore.

And since your pup will need to stay close while you eat, don't forget your Tahoe Dog leash.

Alibi Ale Works – Truckee & Incline Village

📍 10069 Bridge St, Truckee, CA
📍 931 Tahoe Blvd, Incline Village, NV
🌐 alibialeworks.com

Craft beer, good food and a laid-back Tahoe atmosphere make Alibi a favorite after a day outside.

At the Truckee Public House, leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden, weather permitting. At the Incline Village location, dogs are welcome on leash in the Beer Forest and lower patio. Dogs aren't allowed indoors at either location.

It's the kind of place where your Tahoe Dog will rarely be the only dog hanging out under the table.

FiftyFifty Brewing Co. – Truckee

📍 10242 Church Street, Suite 100, Truckee, CA
🌐 fiftyfiftybrewing.com

A Truckee favorite for craft beer and hearty mountain fare, FiftyFifty is an easy post-adventure stop with outdoor seating where you can bring your pup along.

If you're heading straight from the trail to lunch, our Adventure Paw Wax is handy for paws that have spent the morning on dirt, granite or hot pavement.

Wild Cherries Coffee House – Truckee

📍 11429 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee, CA
🌐 wildcherriescoffeehouse.com

Beloved by locals for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and an easygoing atmosphere, Wild Cherries makes a great morning stop before — or after — a Tahoe adventure.

Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio, making it an easy place to fuel up without leaving your pup behind.

Café Zenon – Tahoe City

📍 700 North Lake Blvd #2, Tahoe City, CA
🌐 cafezenon.com

Rustic, relaxed and locally loved, Café Zenon has a spacious outdoor patio that's perfect for slowing down after a day around Tahoe City.

Leashed dogs are welcome outdoors, so your Tahoe Dog can come along for brunch, lunch or an après-adventure meal.

A Tahoe Dog collar or bandana doesn't hurt if your dog likes to look particularly good while patio-sitting.

The Beach House – South Lake Tahoe

📍 4005 Lakeshore Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA
🌐 thebeachhousetahoe.com

For a meal with a view, The Beach House offers a relaxed lakefront setting in South Lake Tahoe.

Leashed dogs are welcome on the patio when available. During busy summer weekends, it's worth calling ahead to confirm the current patio policy and seating availability.

What to Bring When Dining Out With Your Tahoe Dog

A little preparation makes patio time better for everyone. We like to have:

And, of course, make sure your dog is comfortable relaxing around other dogs, servers, kids and busy tables before settling in.

Good Tahoe Dogs make good patio guests. Keep your dog leashed, don't block walkways, clean up after them and respect other diners and dogs. Restaurant policies, patio access and hours can change seasonally, so always check with the restaurant before making a special trip.

And if your dog needs to look the part, shop Tahoe Dog Co. for gear and goods inspired by the dogs who hike, swim, ski, paddle — and patio-sit — around Lake Tahoe.
