☀️ Our Perfect Summer Day in Lake Tahoe - Tahoe Dog Co.

Hi friends, it’s us — Sampson D. and Riley P. We live the Tahoe Dog life every day, and we thought we’d share what our perfect summer day in Lake Tahoe looks like. Spoiler alert: it’s full of hikes, swims, snacks, naps, and a few adventures on the water.
🌲 Morning: Hike at Sugar Pine State Park
We start bright and early with a hike through Sugar Pine Point State Park. Trails wind through tall pines with views of Homewood Mountain Resort and the sparkling bays of the West Shore. Best part? We get some off-leash time to sniff, explore, and chase each other through the forest.
🐾 Mid-Morning: Snacks in Tahoe City
After working up an appetite, we head into Tahoe City for a stop at Scraps, our favorite pet store in the adorable Cobblestone Center. The team there always has treats and belly rubs ready for us. We say hi to shopkeepers, make new friends, and maybe convince our humans to grab us a snackie (or three).
💦 Late Morning: Splash in the Truckee River
From the Cobblestone, it’s just a short walk to the Truckee River. Nothing beats a quick dip to cool off on a warm summer morning. We wade, paddle, and splash before drying off in the sunshine.
😴 Midday: Nap Time
Back home, it’s time to recharge. We curl up in our favorite spots on the back deck our paw-rents built for us and snooze while they do boring stuff like paying bills and answering emails. (Don’t they know life is for fetch?)
🎾 Afternoon: Fetch & Paddle at Chambers
By afternoon, we’re ready for more fun. We head down to the Chambers Landing Beach for fetch — balls, frisbees, or even big Tahoe rocks (Sampson’s specialty). If the wind is calm, we hop on a paddle-board with our female human for a cruise across the bay. Splashing in turquoise water with the West Shore peaks around us? Chef's kiss, perfection.
🍹 Evening: Dockside Vibes at Chambers
As the sun sets, we stroll with our humans out onto the Chambers Landing pier. They sip the famous Chambers Punch / Crush while we sunbathe on the dock, soaking in golden Tahoe light and lake breezes.
🌙 Night: Dinner & Neighborhood Walk
After a hearty dinner back home, we cap the day with a walk around the neighborhood. We greet our dog friends, get a few head scratches from our favorite humans (ideally we stop by Uncle Doug's), and then it’s time to curl up in bed, tired and happy.

That’s our perfect Tahoe day: hike, swim, nap, fetch, paddle, dock time, and a stroll under the stars. We’ll dream of tomorrow’s adventures, because around here, every day is a Tahoe Dog day.
